Over the last 10 years I have owned and lived several BMWs, all propelled by at least 6 cilinders. And with an age of 15 years or more, and a mileage between 1 and 2 tons, these will tend to display all kinds of alarms and undesired behaviour or even come to a full stop. Not always wanting to go to the dealer straight away, I took the opportunity of attempting some maintenance and repairs myself.
